I did it so the factory floating power part of the mount sat on top of the extension steel that was bolted to the frame. if I would have left it flat the front of the engine would have been slightly higher than stock. probably would not hurt anything but might create potential for driveline vibrations. Also on the 1/2 tons the bellhousing mounts are not as forgiving in that way as the 3/4 ton/PW type mounts.
