Finite Element A-n-a-lysis.

Computers, as well as the programs installed on them, are just a tools - like a hammer - and are no better or worse than the people who use them.

The more I use computers, the more I like hammers. And, I find that in the Engineering world at least, we really are not inventing anything new. It has all been done before. We are just applying tried and true ideas in new ways.

So if that new bridge fails, it probably will not be because someone used one FEA program over another, or because they used it on a HP instead of a Dell. It will probably fail because of impossible deadlines, red tape, government involvement, or undersized budgets.
