Any Power-Wagon parts that I can find local, I buy local and support my local economy. It also gives me the satisfaction of doing my own research, making sure I am getting the correct part, and not relying upon someone over the phone telling me what they "think" will fit my trucks. If I can not find it local, I will order it from VPW or one of our other Power-Wagon parts vendors, again after first doing my homework. It it is a really rare part or a part that I need to see and hold in my hand to assure it will work, I will drive out to VPW and dig through the bins and/or remove it from a parts truck myself.
Also by buying local, I end up on a first-name basis with my local big name parts suppliers as well as the older and smaller mom-and-pop stores still around. Once this happens, I find that they are more than willing to go out of their way to find that particular part that they normally would not stock or even order.
