OEMs would likely tell you not to use any product not specifically intended as a fuel or fuel additive.
The viscocity of ATF is outside the specification for diesel fuel, so any potential benefit is likely overshadowed by potential injector coking.
Biodiesel, which meets ASTM D6751 or D975 provides some cleaning of fuel systems. It also boosts lubricity, which is a primary concern of many OEMs. As little as 2% biodiesel blended into diesel fuel provides optimum lubricity.
