I have a friend who, years ago, with 2 children, qualified for food stamps. He didn't have a job, but was looking. They qualified him for X amount of weeks. During that period he got a job. They kept sending him the stamps, even though he told them he had a job. He took the stamps back to return them and they acted like he was a can short of a six-pack. They said they couldn't reverse the qualification, and he had to keep them and keep receiving them until the period ran out.
