unless you are going to drive a million miles in your 6x6, there is likely little benefit to trying to run anything else but gas through your flathead. the flathead is a marginal powerplant rpm and hp wise and is downright anemic in a 6x6 configuration. you can turbo it, methanol it, hop it up, but you still are where you are. best bet it to make sure you have a strong running, well tuned flattie and use it for tooling around locally. Buy some crappy disposable car and run whatever crap you can find through it. if i were in a situation where money for fuel was a major consideration (hence money for an engine is a consideration) , i would swap in a 318 dodge running propane or natural gas. runs nice, and the power loss you will experience on a 318 will still put you ahead of the 230.
