now that is a testament to a good design. not many can say they have had a power tool for 42 years! my Milwaukee 5/8" grinder finally died after 20 years, my milwaukee 1/2 inch drill just needed a new socket for the detachable cord and I have had that 20 years also. lot of professional and personal use on those tools. Dewalt drills only lasted me about a year in daily use.
