I feel for you with the wiring problem, but it can be fixed. You can rewire it better than it was originally, WITH FUSES. And the embarrassment will pass. But, most of all, any 16 year old who drives a Power Wagon is NOT a "dumb-looking kid". Hang in there, you can fix it. There are plenty of helpers here to guide you through it.
