O T but dodge

took my 99 ram 2500 4x4 out to the mall last night.
On the way smelled brakes smoking.
Pulled over and looked in the front driver corner where the smoke showed.
The brakes where so hot the whole area behind the wheel was was lite up"GLOWING RED"
I let it cool and finished my trip. no more heating/smoke..
Any ideas what might of happened?
caliper sticking,brake hose collapse?
