Dad used to call me a S.O.B. I found out when Dad was 85 that the old bastard WAS an old bastard- his biological father was married to his Mom's sister. So maybe he meant Son of a Bastard? But the more usual translation would have been right too...
Dad got a Soldiers medal in WWII, his half brother/cousin the Navy Cross. Grandma's other sister came over as a D.P. after the war, with a number tattooed on her fore arm- Auschwitz survivor.
Call us anything, but you can't call us boring.
