After I finished the driving test, the instructor and I sat in my fathers car as he completed his forms and I awaited the verdict. When he said I passed, my first thought was, "no wonder there are so many poor drivers, the test is so easy; anyone can pass!!!"
This thought I kept to myself. That was over 22 years ago.
That is just one symptom. The self centered
mentality and the, "IT WILL NOT HAPPEN TO ME", way of thinking, are other reasons.

Possible Solution???
I have felt that ANYONE, going for a license, should be required to spend time working/observing:
1)On a fire/ambulance department
2)in the hospital ER
3)in a physical therapy center
4)with accident victims
5)in a morgue
Any other ideal places that you can think of that might kick people in the ass to realize that REAL people get hurt and REAL families are effected.

There are very few true "accidents". If a sudden blow out causes two cars to collide, I can call that an accident. But in this age of blaming all others, and having the insurance "cover it", adds to the mindless/carefree driver.

99% of the time, someone IS responsible-the car did not do it alone.
If people had to pay for the damage they caused, either with big money or serious jail time, maybe they would drive better.

Hopefully, we can reduce the damage with real, vivid education.
