i have noticed same in last years. not that i am 100% innocent,,i find my mind doing things other than watching the road some times,, not good.

seems localy such things like turn signals are optional, Children on bikes pay no attention to traffic laws, i have had to screach to a stop in mid intersection on more than one ocassion to avoid hitting a youth running a stop sign, and of course i was rewarded with said youth giving me the finger on the way by..

on express ways and interstates, i think you see more people who would not have been driving interstates in the past, they either do not know or do not care...possibly every budding driver should spend a couple days on the road with an over the road driver..

i've also noticed population density has a notable impact on driving habits and courtesy. some of the rudest drivers i have ever delt with have been in very densly populated arias. i suspect the ass hole population increases at a greater rate than the general population. some of the drivers that infuriated me the most were the ones who would pull from an intersection to my right, and stop in front of me waiting for a break in traffic in the opposite direction,, i do not recal how many times i shifted into x4 low intending to push the rude son of a b**** out of the way, but some how restrained myself. had i learned to ride the ass of the car in front of me this would not have occured,, some foolish concept of safe distance. having already offended enough people from that state, it will remain namless, but i now understand why the states fire arms laws are so restrictive.

sometimes when fuming about the last asshole(s) it is difficult to remember the vast anonymos majority are decent drivers.
