Unfortunately I can't answer any fo those questions. I have those items on my trucks but I haven't learned what they are for. The basket you refer to, on mine has a triangular shaped piece located on the inside at the bottom. Possibly used for a guide for something to slide in and out.
There are a few unique things about these trucks that would be fun to learn what they were used for. Maybe one of these days we'll find someone that knows about them.
I'm leaving one truck as it came and I am putting a M601 box on the other. So, I have an extra Danish box. If you know of someone looking for a really big box, let me know. LOL
