Ben Hur Mfg. Co. was one of the manufacturers of this trailer.

Others include:

American Bantam Car Co.
Century Boat Works
Checker Cab Mfg. Co.
Dorsey Brothers
Gertenlager Co.
Henny Motor Co.
Hercules Body Co.
Highland Body Co.
J.W. Hobbs Corp.
Mifflinburg Body Co.
W.C. Nabors Co.
Nash-Kelvinator Corp. (Nash Motors Div.)
Omaha Standard Body Corp.
Pike trailer Co.
Queen Ciy Mfg. Co.
Redman trailer Co.
Steel Products Co. Inc.
Strick Co.
(The) Transportation Equipment Co.
Truck Engineering Corp.
Willys-Overland Motors Co.
Winter-Weiss Co.

With so many different companies making the "Ben Hur" trailer, it makes one wonder if it was a Ben Hur design and the others built to that pattern.

There are two basic patterns to this trailer. Early trailers are all steel. Later trailers have wooden sides and floor. This probably occurred about the same time it did for the CCKW, around mid-1943. The wodden version weighs about 190 more than the steel version.

TM9-883 covers these trailers. The G number is G-518.

The Ben Hur trailer uses CCKW pattern wheels.
