why don't you try it, then we'll all know for sure. By opposite side did you mean passenger side? that would be o.k., but if it mounts toward rear(beside trans)it would turn backwards. 1st try them flange to nose to check length,I'd think problems would be obvious so that if it don't work you can't screw anything up permanently.
