It's got a tractor governor on it. This is the motor I'm putting in my Carryall. I'm rebuilding it with turbo pistons, rings, rods and cooling jets to the bottoms of the pistons. But naturally aspirated with an automotive pump setting it's rated at 193 ft-lb at 1400 rpm and 80 hp at 2800 rpm, which is 150 ft-lb at that rpm. More than enough to push it at 65 with 36s, 4.89s and a 5spd.
I think you can get a balancer that attaches to the bottom of the motr and requires a huge deep oil pan, but mine doesn't have that. It does vibrate some which is why made the suggestions re motor mount systems.
The first thing you want to do is ascertain that the motor is in good condition. If so, next talk to the MF dealer and/or a diesel pump shop re uprating it to 2800 rpm at full load, and 80 hp at that rpm. Whether you will need a different pump or not will be a $3-800 question. Likewise, the injector nozzles may need to be changed to increase fuel delivery, but that's cheap by comparison and you ought to have the injectors rebuilt if you're going to pull the pump, which I can guarantee will be necessary.
Incidentally, you can run either a hydraulic pump for PS or a vacuum pump for brakes off the "PTO plate" just below the fuel injection pump. I have an "exhauster" which I used to use for power brakes but now I'm going to use a pump for PS (if/when Ray Suiter sends me the PS gear for the WC53!). I already have the adapter so if you really need a vacuum pump, let me know.
Again: injection pump, oil pan, flywheel/bellhousing.
