This is exactly correct. And it applies to all other modifications we make on steering, brakes or anything else. Done right, things are fine. However if anything fails and results in an accident, look out. People are lawsuit-happy and mis-matched wheels and tires could end up as fuel for a lawsuit. On your own property, it's a different story.
