Now that I've been 'outed' by Aaron, I may as well come clean about all this. :)

I bought this truck a couple weeks ago from an acquaintance here in Colorado. It's a WC63 that has a 1960 D500 cab on it. I've known of this truck since 1997, and on a whim I called the owner last month to see if he still had the truck, and if he would consider selling it. He did and he would, since it had developed a bad rod knock last Christmas.

The recab and flatbed were added some time in the 80's by another acquaintance up in the mountains. He used it to close up mine shafts in the mountains, and built the truck with that task in mind. He did a nice job in many respects, so returning the chassis to normal will not be too big a job. Other than a few weldings that will have to be removed, the chassis is pretty much undamaged.

The truck retains a 230 flathead engine, crashbox and transfer case. There is a Tulsa Winch PTO on the transmission which operates the pump for the dump bed. The frame has been shortened with a cutting torch behind the rear crossmemeber, but the factory pintle hook is still there.

My plan is to use the chassis for my upcoming Power Wagon 6x6 Project. Other than some worn splines and u-joints on the driveshafts, the chassis seems to be in excellent condition. And as you can see the cab is really nice, and hopefully will be finding it's way to a new and happy home soon.
