True. I also encountered several that were so badly rusted that no wrench could grab them. These I cut the remainder of the nuts off with a torch and then drove the studs in. The outer end of the stud us ground to accept a wrench, in theory you could hold that while turning the nut off with a wrench, then maybe grab the shank behind the nut with pliers (while not damaging the threads!) when it pushes the wrench off the end of the stud. I think I would just burn the nut off and replace the stud, but I have about 10 pounds of the studs in a box!
