A new customer called to ask about head gaskets repair on her 02 Chrylser 300. SHe was at another shop for over heating and they had installed a new thermostat. They told her she needed a head gasket repair and they dont do that kind of service. I told her should bring the car so we could check it. No head gasket problem found. I called her with the news and told her we should pull the radiator to check for blockage and possible water pump impeller problem. She gave me the OK. No radiator problem, no water pump problem. OK whats wrong with this car. My TecH ERV and I were leaning over the car the smoke was comming out of our ears and he said lets take a look at the new thermostat. OK Lets pull it. It was installed backwards. Case closed. Assembled parts, filled system, run engine, fan came on & off. Its Happy. Lesson learned again,just because it says its new doesnt make it right. Take Care Bill. PS this thermostat is not at a easy spot to change.
