The dot 5 won't boil, but the water that is sitting int he bottom will. Your dot 5 that was good for 500° is actually only good for 212, whereas dot 3/4 absorbs the water, and will still be good for 300°, +/-.

And the rubber parts seem to be compatible with either, and the combination is not said to be corrosive or anything. Plus, the truck came with partial qt of .3.

So some day, looks like we'll try a flush with a couple qts of dot 3/4.
