The serial number indicates that it is an early WDX. The frame confirms this as the rear crossmember has the 4 angled holes for the very early drawbar. Also, the fenders are for a first series bed.
Beyond that, it looks like it has been "militarized" by someone. My gut feeling tells me this was probably done by a previous owner, not Dodge or the military. Also looks like there is a problem with the driver's side front leaf spring.
Too bad it does not have the original engine or it would be fairly easy to return to a correct early civilian truck.
