96 f-350 7.3 turbo diesel, 5 spd trans, 150,000 miles on it.

Original Symtoms at the Lee, Mass Rally:

All was fine as I drove to the rally until, I jamb the gears or did not hit the clutch fast enough while towing the PW. Lot of weight. Heard noise immeadiately. A little extra push to get the stick in gears. Got to the rally 25 plus miles away.

Drove her a little around town. Same symtoms. noise, little extra to get her in gear.

The next day, she does not want to move with the stick in gear positions, but moved with the stick in NEUTRAL!!! Stalls if I let the clutch out while the stick is in neutral or any other position.

Before this issue, there is a hum at 65 MPH but I think that is coming from the front wheels. Haven't found it yet. No hum at 60mph or below.

I am assuming the tranny is coming down. At that point, a complete rebuild is usualy worth it since it is out.

New symtoms since it was towed:

She starts fine, and now rolls forward in 1st like it should and backwards in reverse but has a loud squealing noise until I put the clutch in and it takes a few seconds to go away. Throwout bearing????

I can now let out the clutch in neutral and she does not move like she did in Lee, Mass. She is acting properly accept for the noise and a few times when rolling in reverse she would stop as if she hit a wheel chock. The I hit the cutch quickly.

I am only going back and forth about 25 feet.

Maybe the tow truck loading the Ford may have cause something to work properly(Un-Jamb). When loading and unloading onto the tow truck, the rear wheels turn without the motor turning. Maybe a clutch/bearing???

Thanks to Dave Fraser and family for the help.
