Question removing door latch from door

I replaced one door latch complete on my 48 PW, now I am working on the other side. Problem is this door has the key lock in the door.
Question:
Does this door lock have to be taken out in order to remove the door latch mechanism?
If so what do you do if the set screw for the door lock is frozen in place besides spraying WD40 or swearing at the the bloody thing with your arms and hands all twisted up inside the door?
