I've known this old guy for years, but haven't seen him around for a while. Turns out he fell and broke his hip and is in the nursing home and has also pretty much lost his memory, so the kids are selling all his stuff. At least they didn't just throw it in the dumpster.

Went over this morning and was surprised that not only did he have good stuff, but good brands of stuff, and the son didn't want much money for it. Started with a Rock Island 4" vise, built like a tank, and added some Ridgid pipe wrenches, a real Crescent wrench, an Alemite grease gun, a handful of Morse twist drills, two good-sized coils of 1/2" copper tubing, NOS boxes of GE old-style tail light bulbs (1196 & 1183), plus miscellaneous auto chemicals, about 20 unopened boxes of small screws, 100 per box, a clean metal safety-type 5 gallon gas can, a box of ignition switches (Lucas, unfortunately), miscellaneous small tools, and a 1939 Kansas City barbering license. Gave $65 for the lot and we were both happy. The copper pipe along was worth the money, and now I have a decent vise. They haven't even gotten into the old man's basement yet, which was full of key machines, key blanks, and other locksmithing stuff when I was last in there.
