wheel size on a power giant?? hub size??

so i went to the local salvage yard and got some later model steel wheels- 16 inch- take them and get the sand blasted and then painted, been shopping for some tires- going to check and see how the wheels looked on the PG- scotch the wheels loosen the front lugs on the drivers side, jack it up, go to fit the wheels on and..... yep dont fit- i was assured by the guy at the yard... yeah buddy they will fit- they are late 1990's GM- so do i need to get some dodge wheels? ford wheels? what is the correct size to go over the hub? I dont want to grind the centers out on these wheels but i guess i can..... any thoughts or suggestions?
