Yah got two sets of gears engaged or most likely partially engaged , either that or a bearing has welded itself together .
When my standard trannies start to get tough to shift I just add some moly lube . The molilube makes for easy shifts and lasts about 10 ,000 miles . Oil changes made no difference , synthetic oil worked sometimes but the moly worked every time .
Some trannies can not have the moly added due to the weird syncro material - NV4500 , NV5600 do not use moly .
