As some of you may remember the winch on my recently purchased '66 WM300 was pretty low on the frame(#734 on the registry), a close look revealed quite a few bends and a grade 8 bolt where the shear pin should be. I have removed the entire winch / bumper and have it disassembled on my bench. Most of the parts have straightened out fairly easily with my vise & 40 ton press. The one part(so far) I am uncertain about is the spool brace on the passenger side of the spool. If anyone has a picture or two of their winch they would be willing to share it would be very helpful. A picture from the front and directly overhead would be great. I suspect the part is fairly tweaked but not sure in what direction & also uncertain how the part will tolerate being reworked on a press. Any insight or good jokes are appreciated. Also, has anyone tried straightening the front frame horns at home? Sorry for the long post.
