I had a friend years ago who was dying of cancer. I didn't know what to say and was afraid to go see him for fear of breaking down. I have regretted that for the 20+ years he's been dead. Another very close friend has been diagnosed and is struggling with cancer. He has gone through radiation and chemo, and they say there is no hope. I determined to go there and be with him. I did break down, and we cried together. He lives about 40 miles away, but I will make time to go see him as much as I can, as long as he is still here.
