Marty, I think the 4BT is a great little engine, same as the 6BT. I've made lots of power with the B series Cummins in the past and had great results. My hang up is actually two things. The first being that a lot of people have 4BTs in FFPWs, and I never build anything to be like everyone else. And the second hang up is that a 4 cylinder doesn't have as smooth power as a 6 or 8 cylinder. As for the Detroit, I thought of it. The two cycle operation makes smooth power, but I want a little more power, something a bit quieter, and something that doesn't leak oil. I've been around Detroits for years, and I've yet to see one that doesn't leak oil....
