I've got a note that an NOS Spitfire head is 1.930". But the spitfire is the long block, eh? And the measurement was taken by a forum member, I believe.
More notes, form an email of a forum member, six shorter block heads mic'ed, vary from 1.905" to 1.990". I've got two more heads I can measure now.
If you would like to add your head dimension to my list, use a dial caliper at the second bolt towards the rear, driver side, just behind the thermostat. Measure bolt boss to head gasket if on an engine. Email me, with a casting number too. Casting number is on top, towards rear, 1311804-x is a common number, all three of mine are. Maybe there is a date code too? My list shows some dates.
