No, I don't have any big problem with ebay. I buy and sell a lot of stuff there. Will check out those boxes. Looks like there are some good ones.

The M37 brakes are getting me by, but I have to replace them all. I pulled the right rear drum off because the adjuster was stuck, and one of the shoes was missing its lining and the other came right off when I took the drum off. I capped off the line to that side and drove it like that. It did a lot better, so I think that's the side where most of the extra motion in the brake cylinder was going. That's obviously not a long-term fix, and I still wouldn't drive it on any steep hills or public highways like that. What I'm thinking is I'm going to try to reline the shoes myself. I have a roll of old brake lining that's the right width, but I'm having a heck of a time finding a supplier of the glue to glue them on with. If I can track some down, I'll give it a try. Otherwise it's $240 for re-lined shoes, or I take all these off and send them in to be done, which presumably would be a bit cheaper. Seems like if I have the lining I ought to be able to do it myself and save. If it doesn't work, I'm only out the cost of the glue, and as far as safety goes they're not going to all fall apart instantly and simultaneously. Meanwhile, I can drive it around a bit like it is.

The "fuel pump" issue turned out to be severe vapor lock. I guess parking it with the hood up for a half hour didn't cool it off enough when it was parked on a hot hillside on a windless sunny afternoon. After I towed it back to town, it started up just fine. That engine is missing the (usually-missing) heat shield, so I will just jerry-rig something. Other than that, even with its fuel and brake issues, the old M37 made it all the way to the bottom of the Slate Creek road and back, what the Forest Service has been telling everyone is "impassable". Hordes of ATVs have been getting through, but there were no tracks of any other full-size rig past the first washout. I love that short wheelbase, high clearance, and steep angle of approach and departure. Got me over some high humps and across some deep gulches. Even pulled a couple of small stumps while I was at it.
