Sort of went through a similar problem lately. My M-37 has always cranked over slow, but have you tried (just to test) starting fluid? See if it'll pop off and run off of the starting fluid. If it'll start from that then you know you're not getting fuel to keep it running. If it won't pop off and start, it could be the grounding problem others have mentioned.
