98 dodge diesel 12v stall out after start

this happened a hand full of times she will fire up and idle and then stall out .some times start right back today took longer after it is up and running every thing is ok it seem to happen with half a tank of fuel more. fuel filter has been replaced seems like a start up problem maybe air in lines any ideas it has got me stumped.
