I have a couple of them that I have to sanitize every year before we take them camping. Normally I rinse them thoroughly then use about a gallon of water with a tablespoon of bleach, then rinse again and leave them out in the open air for a couple of days so the bleach odor and taste doesnt make it back into the water when I fill them.
