I have a bomb hoist on a deuce that makes a great poor man's wrecker. If I care about the towed vehicle getting banged up in front, I hang an old tire on the back of the deuce for it to bump into. A tow bar attached to the pintle hitch is even better, with the bomb hoist only being used to lift one end of the towed vehicle off the ground. The deuce so outweighs whatever is being towed that there's no concern about safety, and it usually has pretty good traction. I would not flat-tow a light vehicle using an M35 because more than likely the front wheels of the towed vehicle would get cocked sideways at some point and I'd never even notice it in the deuce. It would grind the tires down in a hurry. I've flat-towed other deuces with the deuce, but they're big enough that you notice when the front wheels turn sideways.
