Is your 79 dana 60 a ford axle ? If so you can move the perches to whatever position you wish . I used the stock Dodge 93 cummins truck springs on my front end . The most common method for locating the front spring eyes is to use a piece of 2x3 tubing that sits under the frame. You weld the spring eye perches to the tubing and then bolt or weld the tubing to the frame . Take a look at a straight axle swap on a Toyota and you will get an idea of what I am talking about .
I can post pictures on the Carryall thread , but why don't you have a look at the 60 pages or so and this will give you some ideas and a place to start . Also hit up Paul's site which I have marked on page one . I am glad to offer any ideas and moral support .
Take care

Bruce
