77 400 firetruck trouble holding an idle

Hi all,

Going to look into this when I get some time.

1977 400 series Power WAgon firetruck, with a 318 2 barrel is having some trouble holding an idle.

Runs great, have to keep feathering the gas to keep it running. Runs great and strong when moving.

First thought is intake/vacum leak.

I will look for hoses, gasket issues.

What should the vacum gauge read for a 77?

other ideas greatly appreciated.
