Good for you Paul-in 1964 my mother had a collapsed lung which was caused partially from smoking. The doctor inserted a tube into her right lung through the rib cage to try to suck out all the tar that had deposited from years of smoking. I will never forget that sight watching the black matter draining into a canister on the floor in the hospital during her 29 day stay. My mom always said-look at that real good, that is what happens when you smoke and I never did. What a great age to whitness something like that. She never smoked after the lung came back.
She just passed away May 20 at age 93
