It sounds like this is the way I'm going to go. The disc brakes will have to wait for a little bit until I know just how my finances are at the moment. I've bought so much stuff this last month that I really have NO idea how much I have in the bank! At least the truck stops good enough for its speed.

Bill, you said you have used the conversion kit for your Poly. What transmission/setup are you using? I know you have a front winch, and since mine does as well, I want to retain it when I go to an LA smallblock. I have access to a '60/61 D700 with a 361 (hey, at least it's a big block) for basically pennies, but I dunno about the transmission/transfer/pto compatibility with my truck. I KNOW the big block is pretty much not even close to a bolt-in, so I told the guy I wasn't interested in the engine. He's planning on scrapping the truck soon (it's really rough and missing the frame behind the cab, but runs great). It'd be great if I could use something from it for my truck. I don't even know what kind of transmission is in mine, to be honest. I DO know it's non-syncronized and original. He has a '68 WM300 that's really, really rotten, but has the original transmission in it... what did it come with? Thanks again!!
