Here's what I do....strip the motor to bare metal. Use a knotted wire brush or whatever means, but get the exsisting paint off. Take a propane soldering torch and heat areas up, drawing out any oils and residues of left overs, wipe them off with a good prep-sol or something similar.(lacquer thinner, etc) Prime it with gas grill flat black (available at Blowes, Home Cheapo, etc.) Then paint it with either rustoleum, or Duplicolor cheap stuff. It will last for a number of years, as all of mine have. Or, just buy some realy good stuff from Eastwood or the likes. But still follow the above, and you will have success!
