The repro doesn't have any holes! So I'm wondering which ones I drill out? Some were larger than others. More bolts doesn't hurt but it's a lot of drilling for something I don't need.

I saw that discussion and did some research through my old books. and here's what I learned.

Grade 8 bolts have a higher shear and tensile strength than grade 5. The tradeoff is that you have reduced the plastic region of the stress/strain curve. So as everyone stated in simpler english:
Grade 8 is stronger but it's failure mode is more sudden when it reaches that limit.

I was hoping I could just cheat off the factory engineers calculations on this one vice having to do my own on which one would be sufficient for the designed stresses.
