I don't think that I would use solid mounts at either end. These old trucks shake and vibration enough without any help..

One thing about the Helitool kit is the engineering you purchase that you don't have to do yourself. Call Helitool and see if you can get just the parts you need for the front. It would allow you to slip your engine/trans in one time. The front mounts will locate the engine at just the right spot in the engine bay. You should only have to manuever the back end around for the correct line up and then fab the rear mounts.

Are you using the 2WD version of this tranny or is married to the transfer case?
