on my 41 1/2t command car ,almost ready for the road:
late 70's saginaw reverse rotation gear box (dodge 4x4 or some Internationals too)
Ford econoline steering column (shorten 7in)
Stock rag joint from ford or whatever

helitool has a fine pump/bracket system

fabricate steering box mounting bracket from 4x6x3/8 angle iron 7in long to mount box in same position as origional-40 degree angle (requires heating and bending top of frame to clear box-ala shock clearance on rears of many later pickups)Bracket will require 2 1/4 hole (use hole saw)

shorten column.line up with rag joint- column is angled slightly -I'll mount it directly under speedo in my 1/2t, so as wheel is in front of me (note most wheels are not set square with column parralell to vehicle axis- go look at some closely)

Yet to do:modify floorboards, hook up hoses, someday turn signals

late surprizes-good:pitman arm will fit anywhere on spline, rag joints seem universal, no u-joint needed
-bad:bend clutch arm to clear rag joint(You Don't want clutch action to interfere w/ steering!!,after bending clutch dimmer switch must be moved

Note:My system looks very stock, though it required more permanent modifications than some other guy's do.But who wuold ever want to go back to such a neanderthal steering box? Hope to post pics soon (this year?) or can Email sooner, chris.
