M42 a PowerWagon?

Found what looks like a M 37 except with a squared cab. Is this a Dodge military truck? It has M42 on a metal tag on the passenger's side dash along with other data. Has a winch on the front and a flathead 6. I have not found a similar looking truck yet on the internet. Any information would be appreciated.
