As far as mechanically no,gas economy yes. It is a smallblock LA engine design and does share the same bolt pattern with the other small blocks and some parts will interchange.I believe I read once that the V-10 block was designed after the 360,longer w/2 extra cylinders? The crank is uniquely its own as it has larger crank bearings I believe and will not interchange with the others.Like the hi perf. 340,it has heads w/larger valves w/larger intake/exhaust ports but must mate to 340,360,or a aftermarket intake manifold that matchs the head ports. The 360 heads will bolt on the 318 but must use a 340 or 360 intake manifold as the 318 ports are too small and do not mate well w/the 360/340 heads.The 360 is a good strong engine as is the 318 which gets better fuel economy.The 360 has always been referred to as a gas hog.
