Hello Mike,

I have owned two Ford's with diesels, the 6.9 (a dog) and the turbo 7.3 (not Powerstroke). Both of them have had injector pumps replaced, both have suffered from repetitive glow plug replacement and controllers. Other than that, they have been just fine. The 7.3 Turbo has 5 spd with 4:10's and will pull a house if asked. But having said all that I'm going to take a good hard look at the Duramax (Isuzu) diesel that GM has come out with. Wait for the first year to go by to shake out the initial bugs and try it. Rumor has it it'll outrun/outpull any Ford or Dodge diesel on the market. I am intrigued by the earlier comment about Dodge's new V8 diesel. Allison offering is same as the GM. Bide your time and don't get in a hurry, you'e talking about 40K for any of them. Makes me want to keep the 93 Ford when faced with prices like that. Good luck!
