Don't bother starting if your not using a pressure blaster. Tip Tools makes small hobbyist pressure blasters holding 40-60 pounds of media. Contact them about compressor size issues. As another poster noted pipe and line sizes are important to keep water from clogging the unit. With a 3/16 or 1/8 nozzle gun you can easily do a frame. Key is having adequate and dry air supply. Don't use sand. I use an 80 grit silicon carbide. Good for at least 50 passes thorough the blaster. Leaves the metal ready to prime. I use a heavy duty plastic/nylon backdrop, sweep it up after shooting, screen it and go again. Very important is to get a respirator for lung protection. I recently added one of the powered ones, uses a powered fan to drive cool fresh air down a 25 foot supply tube. Motor/inlet is placed well out of blasting area so you get clean cool fresh air. Added benefit is it keeps the face mask on the hood clear all the time. Sending stuff out is ok, but gets really expensive when you have a bunch of small items you have to keep taking in.
