Ron....I swear I will never use bencross members again. This, even though it looks great, has been the worst bed to put together. EVERY single hole was a project in itself, two full days and still 4 more to go this morning. Even though I straightened all the pieces by cutting, heating, bending, rewelding, and everything else that goes with it, the holes still were off enough that they needed attention. So, next time, I will use an aftermarket if they are bent. The previous own (fire dept) hacked and bent them in a hundered ways to aquire pumps and plumbing, hence the destruction. As far as the wood, I got it from Home Depot and milled it myself. Cost was a little over 300.00. I used a router to cut in the grooves. Also 6 coats of marine spar varnish (urethane) for finish. Funny thing about these beds, they never go back together the way they come apart. I suppose alot of it is the bed sides moving from relief when disassembled. At first, I was worried that I racked it by using the rotisserie, but that wasnt the case. Everthing measured up perfectly square.
