For responding to my off-topic question on the economy. I don't pretend to have the answers, or, for that matter, even all the correct questions to ask.
One good thing, personally, has come out of this financial tsunami: Now that I've experienced what it's like to be on the bottom, I'll never look at homeless people, at the poor in the same way.
When I was living well, driving new cars and trucks, going to Starbucks and the movies on a regular basis, I gave little or no thought to those people you see waiting at bus stops or shopping at Goodwill. Now I realize that they are people just like me who, for whatever reason, have hit the wall. Regardless of their economic situation, they're still people, and they deserve respect.
And that's the big lesson I've learned in all this - humility. that's a big one.
I hope we all have a great Friday the 13th, and a wonderful weekend...
